Kourouta Beach

One of the most popular destinations in Ilia is Kourouta beach, a few kilometers from the town of Amaliadas.

In about 30 minutes away from Katakolon visitors are in one of the most organized coastal areas of the county, which for years has been awarded with a blue flag. At the paved road of Kourouta you will find cafes, restaurants and bars for all tastes while you enjoying relaxing music on a very large sandy beach with clear blue waters and beautiful sunsets.

Here you can have fun all day long: to enjoy morning coffee, lunchtime food, dessert or ice cream in the afternoon, evening drink.

Skafidia Beach

It is located 14 miles northwest of Katakolon Port. Golden sand, clear blue waters, simple and green background from the wooded area behind the beach.

Many say that this is one of the most beautiful beaches of our country and those who visit it then reinforce this claim! The beach of Skafidia, which was named probably because of its shape, remains wild and has scenic beauty.

The creek gathers hundreds of daily visitors in the area as there are cafes – restaurants which embrace the visitors and capture the willingness to spend some time there!

Saint Andreas

If you have a couple of hours to spend in Katakolon, the Saint Andreas Beach is an excellent beach to visit. It is encircled by extraordinary landscape and crystal clear waters. The beach is approximately 3 kilometres away from the port which is just a 5 minutes drive. There are cafes and restaurants overlooking the beach. It also has nice green grass where children can have fun.

If sunset finds you on the beach of S. Andreas you will see the red and orange colors of the sun as it goes down to hide behind the island of Zakynthos.

Aldemar

Plakes beach

Plakes beach (also known as Renata beach) is the nearest beach in the port of Katakolon and is just a few meters away. It is a small pebble beach with nice crystal clear waters and a quiet beach bar with umbrellas like palm trees.

The beach is one of the few beaches that provide full access to persons with disabilities, as in recent years was placed there the so-called “Seatrack” which allows independent access of these individuals to the sea.
